Thank You a million times! I have a 4Gbyte USB drive which got its boot sector corrupted..so that all the data became unavailable..files were NOT deleted but unavailable. I have another USB drive, same model, that works. I was able to copy the boot parameters from the working drive over to the bad one…and now all the files can be read. The online help pointed me in the right direction and the ADRC menus were not too difficult. From 6 programs I looked/tried, this was the only truly free one that could do the job. I suspect this program is also very helpful with easier recovery problems too.

While I'm all for freeware and the tasks that they help us do, I sometimes feel that a commercial level software is a better choice in certain situations; this is one of them. My take is that when you pay for a software you know that tons of serious testing and work have gone into the final product, whereas with freeware stringent testing is not always the case. That is why I'd much rather stick to my StompSoft's Recover Lost Data software than rely on a potentially half-baked freeware application. Of course that is just my opinion.

The data recovery software is indeed a boon to the users who are small scale users and they surely cannot afford the services of a data recovery company. Though there are come cases where the user cannot do it himself then he can visit a lab. In case of organisations where they cannot afford to loose any data it is ideal that they visit a nearby data recovery service lab such as Disk Doctors Labs Inc and avail their services as often we have seen that data losses have ruined the companies
