Apimac Timer is a free app that does those things you would expect from a timer, and more. It counts down to zero, acting as a timer; it counts up from zero, giving you stopwatch capability; it serves as an alarm clock, alerting you at a chosen time; and of course it's a digital clock as well.

You can have Timer perform a number of actions for you after a set amount of time: play a sound, play sound files, speak a message to you, or announce the time. Alarms can be set for one-time events, or you can have them repeat daily. A log keeps track of what has happened. A ticker can remind you that you have timers running, so you don't inadvertently shut down your machine and miss the reminder.

ConTEXT is a powerful text editor with great features for use by programmers. Along with editing straight text, it boasts a number of features that will be appreciated by software developers.

Along with being able to open an unlimited number of files simultaneously, it supports lines of up to 4K in length. You can search and replace through a single file, all open files, and even use regular expressions to nail down the exact text you're looking for in your files.
