We all have dreams. Some people want fame. Others want fortune. How about a font in your own handwriting?

YourFonts is a way to personalize your documents by using your own handwriting as your font. Visit their site and download their character template—a PDF file. Fill in the blanks in your own handwriting, and upload it back to them. Within minutes you can download your own custom font—a font only you have, because it's your own handwriting. Fonts are OpenType, and fully compatible with your Mac, PC, or Linux system. The site gives clear instructions and plenty of examples to help you to successfully create your custom font.

YourFonts is a free service. You'll need an app like Adobe Acrobat Reader to print the font template form, and a scanner to digitize the template to upload samples of your handwriting. The fonts generated should be compatible with just about any system.

  1. Damn this is a nice find ;)

Always wondered how my writing would look like on a computer, finally time to try it out!

    http://www.yourfonts.com
Made a quick marker style font in about 15 minutes.
It is a lot of fun and works well.

  4. WOW I LOVE IT and it was So Easy to do!!!

  5. It is not free at all, they want 13 bucks for the first page and 6 extra bucks for the special letters… Am I missing something?

  6. If it is free …. why $8.50 plus a further $6 if you file both template pages…. it must be my age – I too am missing something!!

  7. If it’s free, how come it costs money? I don’t want a free preview, I want an actual way to make it completely for free.

  8. This USED to be free. They offered something like the first 5,000 uses of the site for free, but it’s not free anymore.

  9. They cost MONEY.
