Sometimes your Mac seems to have a mind of its own. You know what you want it to do, but it does whatever it wants to. Maybe it's time you two had a meeting of the minds.

By default, when Finder opens a window, it wants to put it where it was the last time it was open. That may be fine, unless you have a specific location where you want it to be. Now you've got to drag and resize and fuss with the window rather than getting something useful done.

FinderMinder can give you a hand with this. You tell it where you want your new windows to open, and how big you want them to be, and that's that. It runs on top of Finder, so you don't have to do anything special to take advantage of this added layer of control

FinderMinder is a free download. It runs under OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
